Does this apply to Linux users? My PS5 controller had vibration working right away from the very beginning (over Bluetooth)

So I tried following the instructions and now the controller doesn't work at all in the game. What did I do wrong?

Unfortunately, the PlayStation controller support for FF7RI is not what it should be. There are games I've played recently with my wireless Bluetooth DualShock 4, like Mark of the Ninja and Middle-earth Shadow of War that have native DualShock support, and they worked perfectly without any configuration.

I tried several methods, including trying to use any native DS4 support the game might have as suggested by this post. I haven't tried it wired, but this post is specifically talking about wireless. The only ways that gave a satisfactory result were using Steam Input, or by emulating an XBOX controller with DS4WIndows, and using a mod to force PlayStation button prompts.

To be clear, the method in this post did NOT work for me. It recommends we use FF7RI's native wireless PlayStation controller support, rather than Steam Input. I have tried this, but the game either didn't respond to my DS4 at all, or used a weird numbers system for controller buttons.

This post doesn't say specifically what method of wireless. There's Bluetooth, and then I think there's some kind of dongle for PC that Sony will sell at an outrageous price. I had to use emulation to use my DS4 wirelessly with Bluetooth. The native controller support did not work for me.

I own a PS5 controller but now PS5.... so imagine my shock when haptics kicked in during the motorcycle part!! "So that;'s what it feels like!"

Poor implementation. Does not work when controller is connected through bluetooth.

My PS5 controller has the L2 / R2 "heavy" effect while riding a bike, but never had any vibrations. I have it set up just like you describe it...

When you plug the DualSense, a new “Wireless Controller” audio device should pop up. It's used for the vibrations, so ensure it has appropriate volume and is not muted.

That is the most unexpected reason for something to not work, and it was the cause for my issue. I disabled the controller as a speaker so it would stop showing up as an audio device. Thanks for the hint!

If there's no bluetooth support, there's almost no point in this. Also, it would be better if the game used Steam Input to at least show the correct button prompts.
PLEASE GIVE US DLSS SUPPORT!!
